An agonist goes in search of their author with the help of the reader. The reader’s choices shape the agonist’s developing personality as they form a strange relationship. When a sudden arrival throws into question the agonist’s identity, sense of self, and the reader’s complicity, the lines between author, reader, and character rapidly begin to blur.
